Al-Nassr's blistering start to the season continued as they secured a massive 5-1 victory over Al-Riyadh. With two wins in the league and a dominant victory in the AFC Champions League, Al-Nassr's attack, featuring Cristiano Ronaldo, had already scored 13 goals without conceding any.
Confidence was at a high heading into the match against Al-Riyadh, and while they conceded their first goal of the season, Al-Nassr's attack proved too much to handle. The two Portuguese stars, João Félix and Cristiano Ronaldo, each scored a brace, with Kingsley Coman adding the other goal.
The win sees Al-Nassr claim the top spot in the league table. After three matchdays, they not only have the most goals scored but also the fewest goals conceded. While every other team has let in multiple goals, Al-Nassr has only conceded one while scoring 12. It's a golden period for the team.
Al-Nassr took the lead early at Al-Awwal Park, with João Félix finding the net in just the sixth minute from a precise pass by Kingsley Coman. Coman then scored his only goal in the 30th minute, beating the goalkeeper after an Al-Riyadh back-pass went awry. Three minutes later, Cristiano Ronaldo also got on the score sheet.
Just before halftime, Félix thought he had his second, but the goal was disallowed. The Portuguese star didn't have to wait long, however, as he completed his brace just four minutes into the second half. This was his fifth goal of the league campaign, making him the top scorer. Al-Riyadh managed to pull one back a short while later.
Ronaldo, who is now the third-highest scorer in the league, scored his 945th career goal in the 76th minute. He had also found the net in the first match against Al-Taiwo.
