A major cyberattack has occurred on 'X' (formerly Twitter), the social media platform owned by the world's richest man Elon Musk, AFP reported.

Elon Musk himself announced the cyberattack in a post on Monday (March 10).

According to a report by the Paris-based news agency AFP, users in various countries in Asia, Europe and North America have been experiencing problems using X since Monday morning. Many were unable to access their IDs.

Later, Elon Musk wrote in a post on X himself about the matter, saying that X has been (and is still being) under a major cyber attack.

However, X was sometimes accessible during this problem. In addition, Elon Musk claimed it was a cyber attack, but he could not provide any evidence.

Earlier, X had a similar problem during the US presidential election last year when Donald Trump was interviewed. Due to technical problems, the interview started 40 minutes later than scheduled. Elon Musk blamed the cyber attack as the reason for this.

Meanwhile, cybersecurity experts said it's difficult to say what happened without seeing X's operating system. However, the persistence of the problem suggests it was a cyberattack.
