President M Abdul Hamid today (Thursday) appointed Appellate Division Justice Hasan Foez Siddique as the new chief justice of the country. President made the appointment as per Article 95 (1) of the Constitution, a Law and Justice Division gazette notification said in Dhaka today. The appointment would come into effect from the day of his oath, the gazette added.
