Siam arrested in Nepal over disappearance of MP Anar's body
Siam Hossain, one of the suspects in the murder of Jhenaidah-4 constituency MP Anwarul Azim Anar while undergoing treatment in India was arrested in Nepal.
He was detained by Nepal police on Thursday (May 31), a diplomatic source in Kathmandu confirmed.
Siam is suspected to involve in the disappearance in MP Anar's body. His home town is in Borhanuddin upazila of Bhola. He used to work as an assistant to Akhtaruzzaman Shaheen, according to police sources involved in the investigation.
Diplomatic communication has already started on behalf of the Bangladesh Embassy to bring Siam back to the country.
Several responsible officials of Bangladesh police said that they came to know about Siam's detention in Nepal informally.
According to a source in Kathmandu, Kolkata Police is also in touch with Nepal regarding the detention of Siam.
A source involved in the investigation of Anar's murder said that Siam played an important role in the disappearance of the body after the murder of MP Anar in Kolkata on May 13. Then he went to Nepal from Kolkata. Akhtaruzzaman Shaheen, the mastermind of the murder, also went to Kathmandu from Dhaka via Delhi on May 20. From there, he went to the United States via Dubai.
