Murder of MP Anar
Faysal-Mostafizur remanded for 6 days
The court granted six-day remand to Faysal Ali and Mostafizur Rahman, who were arrested in the case of abduction with intent to kill Parliamentarian Anwarul Azim Anar.

On this day, the investigating officer of the case presented the accused in the court and applied for a 10-day remand for proper investigation of the case. After the hearing, the court granted them a 6-day remand.
Earlier, Gowanda Police (DB) arrested them on Wednesday (June 26) from a temple in Chattogram's Sitakunda. Later they were brought to Dhaka.
DB chief Harun-or-Rashid said that the arrested were directly involved in the murder of Anar. During preliminary interrogation, they admitted their involvement in the murder.
He also said that the accused concealed their identity and assumed the identity of followers of Hindu religion. They stayed in a temple called Patalkali on Sitakunda hill . They had been living there for about 23 days.
It is to be noted that on May 12, MP Anar went to India from Kaliganj in Jhenaidah via Darshana-Gede border in Chuadanga for treatment. Went to the house of a friend named Gopal Biswas on Mondal Para Lane of Baranagar police station in West Bengal. The next day he left the house saying to see the doctor. Since then, Anwarul Azim has been mysteriously missing. Later it was known that MP Annar was murdered in Sanjeeva Gardens in Newtown area near Kolkata.
Several people have been arrested in India and Bangladesh in this incident. Based on the information provided by them, some pieces of flesh were recovered from the septic tank of Sanjeeva residence and bones from Bagjola canal in Krishnamati. However, it is still not clear whether they are Anar's or not. It can be confirmed only after DNA test.
