Murder of MP Anar: Arrest warrant issued against Siam
A Dhaka Court has issued an arrest warrant against Siam Hossain, one of the prime suspects of the killing of Bangladesh lawmaker,
member of Parliament for Jhenaidah-4 Constituency MP Anwarul Azim Anar.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka Mahbubul Haque issued the arrest warrant on June 2 in view of the application of the investigating officer.
A police official on condition of anonymity told that the arrest warrant was issued from the court on the advice of Interpol. Usually such warrants are not issued in Bangladesh. This is done with special consideration.
Mahfuzur Rahman, assistant commissioner of Wari Zone of Detective Branch (DB) of police, also the investigation officer of the murder case, said that, the process is underway for the arrest of Siam.
The house of Siam, who is absconding in Nepal, is in Borhanuddin, Bhola. He worked as Aktaruzzaman's assistant.
Earlier on Saturday (June 1), a DB source said, the information which is necessary for the arrest of Siam, the accused who are involved in the murder of MP Anar, has been informed to the NCB of the Kathmandu Police through the NCB of the Bangladesh Police and request request them to arrest him. In view of this request, the Kathmandu Police started working.
