The cattle markets are filled with sacrificial animals of different colors and sizes ahead of the upcoming Eid ul-Adha. Like every year, the main attraction of the hats is the huge cows of different names. But this time buyers are not showing much interest in buying large size cattle; The main reason is high prices.

Meanwhile, there is not much time left for Eid, two days in total. As a result, the crowd of buyers is increasing in the markets, but the bargaining is going on around small and medium-sized cows. On the other hand, the big cows are worried about the forehead of the traders. Basically, the huge profit they expected this time, if they do not get the buyer, they will have to count big losses, let alone profit.

After visiting the Gabtali cattle market in the capital on Saturday (June 15) morning, it was seen that traders are spending a lot of lazy time sitting in front of the big cow bed. Even if the buyer comes, most of them are leaving after hearing the price. There is little bargaining. Rather, the crowd has been seen around small and medium cows. Buyers are bargaining to buy the sacrificial animal of their choice within the affordability.

Every year cows come to this market from different districts of the north and south. Many Cattle are coming to the cattle market from different districts including Kushtia, Jashore, Narail, Magura, Pabna, Rajshahi, Joypurhat, Naogaon, Bogura, Sirajganj. As Eid has come to the door, there has been a lot of buyers. However, the purchase has not yet accumulated in that sense. However, in other years, buying and selling is in full swing at this time.

Big cattle traders say buyers are not showing much interest in big cows this time. Many people are leaving after hearing the price, they are not even bargaining. Basically, the rich people of the capital have lost the desired buyers as most of them are leaning towards various agro farms. Every year on the occasion of Eid ul-Adha, traders calculate big profits around big cattle.

But it is doubtful whether the cost of bringing their cows will be raised this time due to the shortage of buyers.

On the other hand, buyers say that the income of the people has not increased in line with the rise in commodity prices. Where there is a struggle to meet daily needs, sacrificing a large cow is nothing but luxury. On top of that, the price is also being demanded excessively. Cattle traders are charging double the price than last year. They don't even want to give up the price easily. So even after increasing the budget compared to last time, many people do not dare to bargain for big cows.
