There still scope for budget revision: Finance Minister
Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali said that although the budget for the upcoming financial year has been presented to Parliament, there are still opportunities to reconsider various aspects and all kinds of feedback on the budget are being taken into consideration.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting titled 'Economy of Bangladesh in Global Context: Growth, Inflation, Food and Nutrition' organized at the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) auditorium at Farmgate in the capital on Thursday (June 20).
The finance minister said that after the presentation of the budget in the national parliament, different reactions are coming from different quarters. We are taking all feedback into consideration. Those that are realistic and feasible in the budget must be reconsidered. Because the budget has not been passed yet.
He said to the critics, 'Look at what the World Bank is saying about our economy and budget. The World Bank says it's done well. I need money, I need to listen to the World Bank. If you don't agree with it, then you should pay.'
