Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given BMW cars to some senior ministers as gift. The ministers got the gifts for their long contribution to the government and party.
The information came through a responsible source on Saturday.
The ministers who have received the cars are- Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, Commerce Minister Tofael Ahmed, Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, Law Minister Anisul Huq and some others.
To know the matter when Rtv contacted Commerce Minister Tofael Ahmed he said, Prime Minister gave the cars to the senior ministers as gift. Some ministers got the cars. I have also received one.
He said, the cars were not in use. So the Prime Minister gave those to the ministers as gift. She gave those to the ministers being satisfied with their performance.
The minister also said, receiving those from the Prime Minister is a normal process.
But it was known that Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury returned the MBW car.
The cars were brought during the OIC Foreign Ministers conference and those were unused. These cars were bought direct from the company. Those were purchased at a rate of 70 to 80 lakh taka.
