RTV's Senior Reporter, Salim Malik, has won the Best Reporting Award in the joint Media Fellowship program organized by the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection and the Association of Cosmetics Manufacturers & Exporters (ASBMEB). He secured the first prize in the Television category.
Additionally, Jasim Uddin Badol from Daily Samakal won the award in the Print Media category, while DM Nazmul Hossain from Jago News 24.com received the award in the Online category.
On Monday (February 10, 2025), the Director General of the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection, Mohammad Alim Akhtar Khan, presented crests, certificates, and prize money to the three awardees, along with other fellowship participants, at the organization's auditorium.
The winners received the award for their reports on the country's promising cosmetics, skincare, and personal care industries. A total of 30 journalists participated in this inaugural fellowship across the Print, Online, and Television categories.
Salim Malik has been covering Bangladesh's business, banking, insurance, and financial sectors for nearly one and a half decades. He completed his bachelor's degree in English Literature from Government Titumir College.
Salim Malik joined RTV as a Staff Reporter in 2015 and was promoted to Senior Reporter in 2022. Before that, he worked as an economic journalist for popular media outlets such as Ekushey Television (ETV), Daily Sangbad, and BanglaNews24.com.
Salim Malik is a permanent member of the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU), the largest organization for professional journalists in Bangladesh. He is also a member of prestigious journalism organizations, including the Economic Reporters' Forum (ERF), the Capital Market Journalists' Forum (CMJF), and the Insurance Reporters' Forum (IRF). Additionally, he is a founding member of the Broadcast Journalist Center (BJC), the largest association of television journalists in Bangladesh.
In 2022, Salim Malik also won the Best Reporting Award in the Livestock and Dairy Development Project (LDDP) Fellowship.
