Jamuna water started to decrease, but suffering increased in Sirajganj

The water of Jamuna river has started to decrease In Sirajganj, but the sufferings of the flood victims have increased. Food and clean water shortages in flooded areas.

In the last 24 hours, the water of Jamuna flowed 60 cm above the flood limit at the city protection dam point on Monday (July 8) morning, which has decreased by 1 cm.

Bangladesh Water Development Board Sirajganj gauge reader Hasan Mamun said that the water in Jamuna will decrease slowly.

Meanwhile, 34 unions of five upazilas of Sirajganj are currently under flood. About half a million people are in trouble due to the rising water in the homesteads of all these areas. There is a shortage of food and clean water in the flood affected areas. Although distribution of relief has started, it is insufficient compared to the requirement.
