Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left Dhaka for China on a four-day bilateral visit.

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight left with Prime Minister and her entourage from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11 am on Monday (July 8).

Sheikh Hasina's visit is considered very important in developing the relationship between the two countries from a 'strategic partnership' to a 'strategic comprehensive cooperation partnership'.

It is known that Sheikh Hasina will hold a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on July 10 and a delegation-level meeting with Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang during her stay in Beijing from July 8 to 11.

At least 20 to 22 Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) are likely to be signed between Bangladesh and China during the four-day bilateral visit.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Hasan Mahmud said in a press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday that during the Prime Minister's visit, cooperation in the economic and banking sectors, trade and investment, digital economy, infrastructure development, assistance in disaster management, construction of the 6th and 9th Bangladesh-China Friendship Bridge, export of agricultural products from Bangladesh and the memorandums of understanding between the people of the two countries are likely to be signed.

The foreign minister said that the inauguration of several projects of the two countries will also be announced during the visit.

According to the tour schedule obtained from the Prime Minister's office, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) President Jin Liqun will pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on July 9 on the second day of the visit. After that, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh will attend the summit on trade, business and investment opportunities between Bangladesh and China at China's World Summit Wing at Shangri-La Circle in Beijing.

Sheikh Hasina will later lay a wreath at the People's Heroes Monument at Tien Anmen Square. In the evening, she will attend a dinner hosted by Bangladesh's ambassador to China at Bangladesh House.

On the third day, a delegation-level bilateral meeting will be held at the Great Hall of the People under the leadership of Prime Minister of Bangladesh and Premier of the State Council of China Li Qiang on July 10. At this time, several documents including memorandum of understanding will be signed in their presence.

Later, She will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping in the afternoon.

After the visit, the Prime Minister will leave for Dhaka from Beijing International Airport on July 11 at 11 am Beijing time. The flight is scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on the same day at 2 PM Bangladesh time.
