ICT Seeks Forensic Analysis of Call Records Involving Hasina and Others
The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has ordered the forensic examination of significant call records involving Sheikh Hasina and others related to the July-August massacre by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
The tribunal, led by Chairman Justice Md Golam Mortuza Majumder, issued this order on Monday (January 13).
Prosecutor BM Sultan Mahmud told reporters that the tribunal has granted permission for a forensic examination to verify the authenticity of important call records involving Sheikh Hasina and others during the July-August massacre, obtained from online platforms and various sources.
Earlier, prosecutors of the International Crimes Tribunal stated that they had obtained crucial call records and information related to disappearances involving individuals connected to the student and public uprising and the subsequent massacre. These records include communications linked to Sheikh Hasina and others, which could play a significant role in the investigation.
They further mentioned that the call records provided clear evidence of the planning and instructions used to suppress the student-public movement.
Additionally, investigators have received many critical details related to enforced disappearances. This information and evidence could open new directions in the investigation and be used for legal actions against the accused.
Prosecutor Tanvir Zoha stated that vital evidence related to disappearances has been found. Extensive efforts were made to eliminate evidence of the murders.
