24 hours ultimatum, stern warning from agitators
Anti-discrimination student movement leaders have given a one-day ultimatum to release the arrested and missing persons within 24 hours and withdraw the cases against the students. Also, those responsible for the violence, from ministers to constables, should be brought under justice. They warned of giving new programs if the demands are not fulfilled within the stipulated time.
The leaders announced this at a press conference held online on Saturday (July 27) night.
Abdul Hannan Masud, the coordinator of the movement, said that a health force and legal force will be formed at all levels including the district, upazila on Sunday (July 28). They will collect information about the injured and dead across the country.
Apart from this, the leaders also announced graffiti and wall writing across the country.
Abdul Hannan Masud said that the government is carrying out genocide by using the political identity of the students. The government has to take responsibility for all the incidents that happened so far. I demand an international investigation into the ongoing genocide.
Masud said, 'We are clarifying three things. Earlier in 2018, after the notification of cancellation of the quota was issued, it did not last even 6 years. Therefore, stop the circular game and discuss with the stakeholders, especially the students, form an independent standing commission, and pass the law as per the recommendations of the commission.
Police Constable to Minister, involved in the murder of many students should be acquitted and brought under the law.
As many false cases have been filed against the students, the cases should be withdrawn and the missing and detained students should be released within 24 hours. If not, a tougher program than 'Bangla Blockade' will be announced.
The leaders said that if the demands are not fulfilled, more difficult programs will be given. We will not sit at home anymore. We will come down the street.
