Police on high alert in capital

The anti-discrimination student movement has called for protests across the country. The DMP claimed that this position of the police is so that no one can spoil the law and order situation. They are conducting search by placing checkpoints. Especially at the entry points of Dhaka, search was strengthened from Saturday (August 3) morning.

Apart from this, policemen were seen taking alert positions in Pragati Sarani, Jamuna Future Park, Bashundhara Gate areas of the capital.

The responsible policemen said that we are here to ensure overall security. We have several teams working here. We have taken a position here with all preparations to ensure safety.

If necessary, 'suspects' are being searched. Various vehicles including CNG, motorcycles, long-distance buses are being stopped and passengers' bags are being checked and interrogated.

Meanwhile, the anti-discrimination student movement has called for protests across the country to ensure the 9-point demand. Coordinator Asif Mahmud announced this in a post on social media platform Facebook on Friday (August 2) night.

He said, protesting the killing of students and citizens across the country by attacking the peaceful movement and protesting the 9-point demand on Saturday (August 3) across the country and calling for 'Total non-cooperation' movement for an indefinite period from Sunday (August 4).

Apart from this, he called upon the people of the whole country to organize in alleys and streets and make the program successful.
