Declaration of 3 days general holiday
A three-day general holiday has been declared from Monday (August 5) in view of the ongoing emerging situation in the country.
This information was revealed on Sunday (August 4) by the Ministry of Public Administration.
Senior Secretary of Public Administration Ministry Mohammad Mezbah Uddin Chowdhury confirmed the matter and declared Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday as public holidays according to the executive order.
Meanwhile, the government has issued an evening law (curfew) in all departmental headquarters, city corporations, municipalities, industrial areas, district headquarters, and upazila headquarters, including Dhaka metropolis, from 6 pm on Sunday until further notice.
This was informed in a press release of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The anti-discrimination student movement has called for an all-out non-cooperation movement from Sunday to demand the resignation of the government. There have been reports of many deaths due to violence in different parts of the country around this program. In view of this, a round-the-clock curfew has been issued from this evening.
