Interim Government sworn in today

The swearing-in of the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus is likely to take place on Thursday (August 8) at 8 pm, Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman said.

He revealed this information in a press conference at Sena Sadar on Wednesday (August 7).

The army chief said, 'We are trying our best for the swearing-in ceremony on Thursday.' There was a proposal to make it in the afternoon. It becomes a very tight schedule. Because, Dr. Muhammad Yunus will enter the country around 2:10 pm. It is difficult to organize immediately after. For this I can arrange around 8 pm. A total of 400 people will be organized.

He said, Dr. Yunus will arrive tomorrow (Thursday). I will receive him at the airport. Hopefully, the swearing-in of the interim government will take place tomorrow (August 8) at 8 pm.

The army chief also said that the armed forces will provide all kinds of support to the government led by Muhammad Yunus. The interim government may be consist with 15 people. One or two may join after.

General Waker-uz-Zaman requested to continue the role that students are playing in clearing debris and controlling traffic on the roads in various places across the country including the capital. He said students are helping us by working in rural areas also.

Dr. Yunus was staying in Paris, the capital of France. He left for the country on Wednesday from there.
