Under pressure from officials, two deputy governors of Bangladesh Bank and the head of the Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) have finally submitted their resignations to the government.

Apart from this, they have submitted their resignations to the Central Bank's Governor.

It is known that they were informed yesterday by the Ministry of Finance that they have to submit the resignation letter by 1 o'clock today. According to the instructions, Deputy Governor Kazi Sayedur Rahman and Md. Khurshid Alam, Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) chief Masud Biswas also submitted their resignation letter to them. Similarly, Bangladesh Bank advisor Abu Farah also submitted his resignation letter.

In this regard, Md. Khurshid Alam said, 'The government has decided to resign. I submitted my resignation for that. My regular employment age is not over yet. It seems I made a mistake by joining the post of Deputy Governor.'

After the change of government last Wednesday, a group of angry officers and employees marched demanding the resignation of the central bank governor, four deputy governors, advisers and the head of the financial intelligence department.

At one point they barged into the governor's floor in the central bank's main building and forced a deputy governor to sign a white paper. Others were expelled.

The angry officials of the bank claim that these top officials of Bangladesh Bank are responsible for the irregularities and corruption in the banking sector; Good governance will not return to the banking sector if they are in charge.
