Pakistan PM's phone conversation with Dr Yunus

Interim government chief advisor Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus spoke to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif over phone. Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Muhammad Yunus. At the same time, both leaders agreed that Pakistan and Bangladesh will work closely for prosperity.

This information was given by Radio Pakistan in a report on Friday (August 30). Apart from this, a press release issued by the press wing of Pakistan's Prime Minister Office also confirmed the phone conversation between the two leaders.

It said that Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had a telephone conversation with Chief Adviser to Bangladesh Government Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus on Friday. In the conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz congratulated Prof Muhammad Yunus for assuming the post of Chief Advisor and appreciated his contribution to the socio-economic development of Bangladesh. Apart from this, Shehbaz also expressed his condolences on the devastation caused by recent floods in Bangladesh.

According to the press release, Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of reviving bilateral relations through enhanced cooperation in various fields (between Bangladesh and Pakistan).

Referring to the historical, religious, and cultural ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh, Prime Minister Shehbaz also expressed his deep desire to strengthen trade relations, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people contacts between the two countries.

In the phone conversation, both leaders agreed that there is a need to work closely for the progress and prosperity of the people of Pakistan and Bangladesh. Apart from this, they also agreed that greater regional cooperation can play an important role in improving the livelihood of the people of South Asia.
