Doctors 'Strike' suspended

The strike of doctors has been suspended. The agitators took this decision when the advisor of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Noorjahan Begum announced action against those involved after seeing the CCTV footage of the attack on the doctors.

A case has been filed in Shahbag police station regarding the attack on the doctors in Dhaka Medical Center after the announcement of the health advisor. 40 to 50 people have been named accused in the case. Among the accused are three students including a teacher of the private university BUBT.

The case was filed at Shahbag police station on Sunday (September 1).

The patient's relatives beat up the doctors on Saturday (August 31) at 8:30 pm in connection with the death at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Allegations were made that the patient's relatives entered the hospital and Dr Imran and Dr Mashrafe were beaten.

Relatives claim that the patient died due to the negligence of the doctors. Doctors claimed that the patient died on the way.

Earlier, the patient who had an accident was brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 8:30 pm on Saturday.

Since then, the doctors have stopped the medical services of the emergency department of DMC, complaining of insecurity.

Later in the morning, intern doctors in all medical centers across the country announced an indefinite strike until the safety of the doctors was assured, the culprits were arrested and the army was deployed.
