Md Azam Appointed as new DG of Bangla Academy

Dr Mohammad Azam has been appointed as the new Director General (DG) of Bangla Academy.

This information was revealed in a notification signed by Muhammad Ibrahim, the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration on Thursday (September 5).

When asked about the appointment, Dr Mohammad Azam said that he was informed about the matter by the Ministry of Public Administration.

Dr Mohammad Azam was born on August 23, 1975 in Hatiya, Noakhali. After completing his graduation and post-graduation from Dhaka University's Bengali department, he obtained his PhD degree by researching the colonization and decolonization of Bengali language. He is interested in literature, aesthetics, history, politics, and cultural studies.

Dr. Mohammad Azam's published books include 'Bangla o Promito Bangla Samachar', and edited volumes such as 'Nirbachito Kabita: Syed Ali Ahsan' and 'Kobi o Kobitar Sandhane'.
