Dr Yunus' Meeting with Gano Forum
As part of the state reform, Dr Muhammad Yunus, the chief adviser of the interim government sat in dialogue with the political parties. As a part of this, he first sat with 'Gano Forum' at the state guest house Jamuna.
The dialogue started on Saturday (October 19) at 3 pm. A delegation of 9 members led by Dr Kamal Hossain is participating in the dialogue.
It is known that the chief adviser will sit in dialogue with seven parties and alliances between 3 pm and 7 pm today. However, as always, the main opposition party of the last parliament was not invited this time.
The seven parties and alliances include - Gano Forum, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Labor Party, 12 Party Alliance, Bangladesh National Party led by Andaleeve Rahman Partho, Jatiyatabadi Sammana Alliance, and Democratic Liberation Council.
Several leaders of the parties or alliances invited to the dialogue said that the main focus of their discussion in the dialogue with the chief adviser will be electoral reform and electoral roadmap based on priority. They will present specific reform proposals before the chief advisor on this issue.
Apart from this, the parties will also present their views on price control, removal of Awami League allies from the administration, genocide trial, and withdrawal of false-disappearance cases against opposition leaders and activists during the Awami League period.
Earlier, on October 5, Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus held a dialogue with several parties including BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami.
