BNP's acting chairman, Tarique Rahman has called a meeting of the party's permanent committee to deliberate on future policies and strategies.
The meeting is scheduled to take place on Monday (6 January) at 8:30 pm at the party chairperson's office in Gulshan, with Tarique Rahman presiding virtually, confirmed BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan.
Sources within the party indicated that the meeting has been convened in preparation for BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s upcoming medical travel. Key discussions on the party’s strategies and potential decisions are expected during the session.
In related developments, Khaleda Zia will be transported directly to an air ambulance for her departure. Party leaders and workers have been advised to avoid large gatherings during this time. It remains unclear if senior leaders will be present at the airport to bid her farewell.
Khaleda Zia is scheduled to leave for London on Tuesday night (7 January) for advanced medical treatment. She will travel aboard a special air ambulance provided by the Emir of Qatar, with a stopover in Doha before continuing to London. The former Prime Minister will be admitted to a London clinic, where her treatment plan will be overseen by medical specialists.
