No One Can Perform Hajj at Government Expense
Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor for Environment, Forests, and Climate Change, stated that efforts are being made to reduce the costs of Hajj. This year, no one will perform Hajj using government funds.
She made these remarks during a briefing at the Foreign Service Academy auditorium in the capital on Thursday (October 24) evening.
Rizwana Hasan clarified, "Only those required for Hajj management will travel. The Hajj package will be announced by the end of this month, and you will see how much we have reduced the cost."
She further added, "Our Hajj management must align with Saudi Arabia’s. Therefore, we have to wait until the 30th of this month."
Regarding the resignation of President Md. Sahabuddin, Rizwana Hasan remarked, "This is a political matter. Our government is a product of a people's movement, so every decision must be made in accordance with the constitution. It’s difficult to predict how long the process will take, as it depends on political parties."
The advisor emphasized, "Since public demand is growing for the resignation, there’s no scope for delay. Different people may have varying opinions on constitutional matters, which will be reviewed by the commission."
When asked about the limit of three attempts for the BCS exam, she explained, "If the same individual takes the exam repeatedly, others may not get a fair chance. Considering this, we have decided to allow a maximum of three attempts for the BCS exam. No decision has been made yet regarding the retirement age."
Among those present at the briefing were Mahfuz Alam, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor, and Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.
