Md Touhid Hossain, the Foreign Affairs Advisor to the interim government, has clarified the misconceptions that have been created in the international community, including neighboring countries, about the persecution of religious minorities, especially the Hindu community in Bangladesh.

Towhid Hossain held a meeting with diplomats from various countries to present the real situation.

The meeting was held on Monday (December 2) afternoon at the State Guest House Padma with foreign diplomats serving in various missions in Dhaka regarding the propaganda of religious minorities.

Representatives from various countries, including India, Pakistan, and other major nations, attended the session.

After the meeting, the Foreign Affairs Advisor briefed the journalists about it.

The foreign affairs advisor said that a section of the Indian media has created a wrong idea about Bangladeshi Hindus. It has been presented to diplomats.

There is a difference between the government before and after August 5. Therefore, he said, it may take some time to normalize. Towhid Hossain said that Bangladesh wants to normalize relations with India while keeping the interests of both countries intact.

He also commented that attempts to enter Bangladesh through some borders are provocative. In addition, the Foreign Affairs Advisor also alleged that a global campaign is underway against Bangladesh.

At that time, the Advisor said that the interim government was firmly committed to maintaining a harmonious situation in the country. There is no room for communalism here. One or two incidents have occurred, which the government has taken into account and brought the perpetrators to justice.
