Dr. Yunus Calls for Meetings with Student Leaders and Political Parties
To foster national unity, Interim Government Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has called for meetings with student leaders, political parties, and religious organizations.
At a press conference held at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Tuesday (December 3), Chief Advisor's Press Secretary Shafiqul Islam shared the announcement.
He stated, "In pursuit of national unity, the Chief Advisor will hold dialogues with student leaders this evening, with all political parties tomorrow, and with religious organizations the day after."
Addressing misinformation being spread by Indian media about Bangladesh, Shafiqul Islam said, "Our image is being tarnished. The media must stand against this alarming disinformation. We must remain united and outspoken against these false campaigns."
The press secretary also mentioned that Professor Yunus had a conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the end of August. During that time, the Chief Advisor invited Modi to send a representative for a visit.
"We have repeatedly shared various information from our side, but they are relying on sources of their choosing. We want to be transparent and share everything openly. However, if they close their eyes, ears, and noses, they won’t know the truth. India is pretending not to hear even when they are listening," he added.
