Chief Adviser's Press Secretary, Shafiqul Alam, claimed that Hindus in Bangladesh are now safer compared to the era of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

In an exclusive interview with Indian media outlet India Today on Tuesday (December 3), he stated, "Hindus are well-protected in Bangladesh. They are now safer than during Sheikh Hasina’s rule. We have strengthened security measures across the board. Our mission is to uphold the human rights of every Bangladeshi, irrespective of gender, ethnicity, race, or religion."

Shafiqul Alam alleged that misinformation is being widely spread through Indian media. He said, "During the Awami League government’s tenure, widespread persecution of Hindus occurred. However, not a single report was published in the media at that time. No expatriate organizations raised the issue, and no one brought it up in the British Parliament."

Addressing claims that Hindus are being targeted in Bangladesh, the Press Secretary emphasized, "We have ensured the security of all religious communities. Hindus have been able to celebrate Durga Puja without fear. Additionally, we have provided security for ISKCON temples."
