The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement has announced the "March for Unity" program, following the government's initiative to draft the July Declaration based on national consensus. Responding to their call, students from across the country have started arriving at Shaheed Minar from early morning.

On Tuesday, December 31, preparations for the stage at Shaheed Minar began at dawn. Students from various districts began their journey toward Dhaka on the night of Monday, December 30, to participate in the mass gathering.

By 7 AM, students from northern districts such as Panchagarh, Natore, and Sirajganj had already assembled at Shaheed Minar. Their collective hope is that the people of the country will take an oath to unite against fascism.

Earlier, at around 1:45 AM on December 30, the organization issued a statement to the media. They highlighted that the historic July-August uprising, marked by the spontaneous participation of students and citizens, had brought forth a collective aspiration: the abolition of the fascist system and the establishment of a new political order. This aspiration paved the way for the emergence of a new Bangladesh on a historic foundation.

The statement emphasized the indispensability of the "July Declaration" as a testament to the sacrifices of thousands of martyrs and injured freedom fighters and as a document embodying the people's aspirations. The responsibility of drafting this declaration historically rested on the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, which led the July uprising. Despite numerous challenges, the organization assumed the duty of formulating and announcing this historic declaration on behalf of the students and citizens of Bangladesh. Their initiative has garnered widespread and positive responses among the masses.

In this context, the government has taken the timely initiative to draft the July Declaration based on national consensus. The students and citizens have welcomed this step. As part of this progression, the "March for Unity" program has been announced to take place at 3 PM on Tuesday, December 31, at the Central Shaheed Minar.
