The open concert "Rebuilding the Nation", organized under the banner of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, was scheduled to take place tomorrow, Saturday (February 22), at the old trade fair ground in Agargaon, Dhaka. However, just a day before the event, the organizers have decided to postpone it. They have confirmed that the concert has been temporarily suspended due to security concerns.
Salahuddin Sourav, the Cultural Cell Secretary of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, told the media, "The concert has been temporarily postponed due to security issues. The safety of participants, audiences, and everyone involved is our top priority. Considering the situation, we have taken this decision. Everything was prepared, but we didn't want to take any risks. We planned to reschedule it for the following week, but since the holy month of Ramadan is beginning, we are now considering organizing it after Eid."
The main attraction of this concert was Nagar Baul James. Other bands and artists set to perform included Chirkutt, Artcell, Sonar Bangla Circus, Bengal Symphony, Bangla Five, Cryptic Fate, Kureghor, Kaktal, and singer Farzana Wahid Sayan, among others.
Previously, the organizers had stated, "This was set to be one of the largest open-air concerts in the history of Bangladesh. The concert venue was designed to safely accommodate several hundred thousand people enjoying music together. Various bands from across the country were scheduled to perform. We carefully curated a lineup of local artists who stood in support of the movement, prioritizing it over their own careers."
