Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain has stated that no other country in the world has as many overseas branches of political parties as Bangladesh does. These expatriate Bangladeshis are tarnishing the country's image. Incidents like rallies, slogans, and even egg-throwing in support of political parties such as BNP, Awami League, and others negatively impact the nation's branding. The hostile attitudes of Bangladeshis abroad toward each other damage the country's reputation. The media must cooperate in addressing these issues.

He made these remarks on Saturday (January 11) at a hotel in the capital during an event titled "Branding Bangladesh."

Expressing hope that political instability will subside and investors will come to Bangladesh, the Foreign Affairs Adviser said that uncertainty has emerged regarding the political situation. A roadmap will be introduced soon. The government is working to transfer power to the elected government as quickly as possible.

He also criticized the Indian media for spreading negative propaganda against Bangladesh over the past four months. According to him, Indian outlets have been portraying a false narrative of a war-like situation at the border and alleging severe persecution of the Hindu community in Bangladesh. He emphasized the need for media collaboration to effectively counter such misinformation.

Addressing complaints from expatriates about inadequate support from Bangladeshi embassies abroad, Md Touhid Hossain admitted that while some grievances are valid, not all are accurate. He further assured that the government will take strict action to prevent any harassment of expatriates at airports.
