Donald Trump Invites Tarique Rahman to National Prayer Breakfast
Acting Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Tarique Rahman, along with two senior party leaders, has been invited by newly elected US President Donald Trump to attend the upcoming National Prayer Breakfast.
The BNP's press wing confirmed the invitation on Friday, January 10. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee Member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury will accompany Tarique Rahman at the event. Mirza Fakhrul received the official invitation letter on Friday.
The National Prayer Breakfast, organized under the leadership of the US Congress, is scheduled to take place in Washington, DC, on February 5-6.
This prestigious annual event, founded by Abraham Vereide, typically occurs on the first Thursday of February. It includes a series of meetings, luncheons, and dinners, bringing together approximately 3,500 distinguished guests from over 100 countries. The gathering focuses on topics such as prayer, politics, business, and other pressing global issues, making it a significant event on the US president's calendar.
Tarique Rahman's participation highlights the BNP's engagement in international political forums and strengthens diplomatic ties with global leaders.
