Bahrain’s Acting Ambassador of Bangladesh, A.K.M. Mohiuddin Kayes, met with Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani. The meeting took place on Wednesday, January 29, at the Foreign Minister’s office in Bahrain.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Al Zayani received a congratulatory message from Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, on behalf of Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The message was sent to mark Bahrain’s National Day, the 25th anniversary of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s ascension to the throne, and 50 years of diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Bahrain.

During the discussions, both sides addressed bilateral relations, trade and investment, and the visa process for Bangladeshi citizens. The Acting Ambassador specifically requested the reinstatement of all visa categories, including family visas, for Bangladeshis. In response, the Foreign Minister assured that he would bring the matter to the Prime Minister’s attention and work towards a positive resolution.

Additionally, Minister Al Zayani praised the embassy’s initiatives, including awareness programs, free healthcare, and legal aid. He also acknowledged the significance of events such as the Bangladesh-Bahrain Friendship Cricket Cup, the screening of the Bahrain-Oman Gulf Football Final in cinemas, and the three-day Bangladesh Festival in strengthening bilateral ties.

The Acting Ambassador expressed gratitude to the Foreign Minister and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their collaboration in unveiling a special logo and publication to commemorate 50 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
