Sinha forcefully sent abroad for telling truth: Fakhrul

Jatiya Oikyafront spokesman and BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, for telling truth, for delivering true judgment former chief justice SK Sinha was forcefully sent abroad from the country. He at present is passing his exile life abroad.

He said these as the main speaker at a grand rally of lawyers organized by Jatiya Ainjibi Oikyafront at Supreme Court premises on Saturday.

Mirza Fakhrul said, with respect I want to say former chief justice SK Sinha turned around and protested in the time of stagnancy when nobody dared to speak the truth. He delivered true judgment, told the truth. For this reason the government forced him to leave the country.

The BNP secretary general said, I am shocked as the lawyers present here did not mention Justice Sinha in their speeches. I hoped that you would remember him. But nobody did it. All of us should pay respect to him and say the words repeatedly that he uttered.

Urging lawyers to go for movement to attain freedom of judiciary Mirza Fakhrul said, people will be deprived of rule of law if freedom of judiciary is not ensured.

The program was presided over by Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association president Joynul Abedin and it was moderated by general secretary Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon. Gono Forum president and Jatiya Oikyafront convener Dr. Kamal Hossain was the chief guest in the program.

BNP standing committee members Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar, Vice Chairmen Advocate Khondoker Mahbub Hossain, Barrister Shahjahan Omor, BNP Chairperson’s advisor Advocate Taimur Alam Khondoker, Advocate Nitai Roy Chowdhury, joint secretary general Advocate Moazzem Hossain Alal, Khaleda Zia’s lawyer Advocate Sana Ullah Mia were also present on the occasion.
