All types of 31st celebrations banned for election: Home Minister

Home Ministry has banned all types of celebrations in the early hours of English New Year due to election. Program in the open place as well as roof-top program will not be allowed.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal delivered the information at the secretariat on Sunday.

The Home Minister said, the steps have been taken as the date of election and thirty first night are nearer.

He said, party, fireworks or crackers will not be allowed by arranging programs of thirty first. Sale in the other bars except the international quality hotels will remain shut from 31st December afternoon to afternoon of the following day. In this period movement with legal arms will not be allowed.

Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, strict security measures were taken on the occasion of Xmas festival on 25th December. Security measures were strengthened in three and half thousand churches throughout the country on the occasion of Xmas. Archways will be installed in the entry way of the churches. As well as the churches will maintain their own security with help of volunteers.
