The Russian House in Dhaka, in collaboration with the Liberation War Academy Foundation and the Russ-Bangla Kollayan Trust, organized a commemorative event marking the 54th anniversary of Bangladesh's independence on March 27, 2025.
The ceremony began with a solemn minute of silence to honor the brave martyrs of the Great Liberation War. A special tribute was also paid to the Soviet Navy for their significant role in clearing mines from the Chittagong and Mongla ports, ensuring Bangladesh's post-war recovery.
In his opening remarks, P. Dvoichenkov, Director of the Russian House in Dhaka, highlighted Russia's historical support during Bangladesh's struggle for independence and its contributions to the country's post-war development.
Mohammad Abdul Whab, President of the Russ-Bangla Kollayan Trust, and Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad, Chairman of the Liberation War Academy Trust, expressed deep gratitude for the Soviet Union's unwavering support.
