Jatiya Oikyafront top leader and Gono Forum president Dr. Kamal Hossain said to the members of police force, you must know, nobody remains in power for eternal period. And even no government is above the law. This government is remaining in power for 16 days. So don’t follow the illegal orders.

He said these at a press conference at Jatiya Oikyafront’s office at Purana Paltan in the afternoon after the incident of attack on Gono Forum leaders and activists when they were returning after paying tributes to the martyred intellectuals’ memorial at Mirpur on Friday.

Upholding allegation that Oikyafront’s leaders and activists including BNP are being arrested, Dr. Kamal said, the members of police, why they are doing these? Is there any constitution in the country? It seems not. Basically they made the constitution signed by Bangabandhu a ridiculous matter.

About the attack on them at the martyred intellectual memorial Dr. Kamal said, it is a civilized country. Those who are ruling should be ashamed. Take action against the people who attacked today.

About silent role of police over the incident he said, the first signature in the constitution is given by father of the nation. Are you disobeying order of Bangabandhu? You will be in service for 50 to 55 years, understand that, don’t break the constitution. Let me know under whose direction you are doing these.

Dr. Kamal said, what happened to us we do not consider that. The incident took place on the day of martyred intellectual day, it is humiliation to the martyrs. It cannot be accepted. Crores of people of the country cannot accept this.

Showing the injured Dr. Kamal said, they have medical certificates. See at the finger of ASM Rab. Mr. IGP I can assure you that we will cooperate you. We will provide legal support and will help to investigate. To whom you know as sincere, give them responsibility.

Describing the situation he said, we went there to pay tribute. But the people who cannot accept that who are they? They are doing in exchange of money. It cannot be an act of morality.

JSD president ASM Abdur Rab, BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, Oikyafront leaders Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Dr. Reza Kibria, Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury, BNP Leader Abdul Awal Mintoo, JSD’s Abdul Malek Ratan, Gono Forum’s Subrata Chowdhury, Mostafa Mohsin Montu, Jaglul Haider Afrik, AOM Shafikullah among others were present in the press conference.
