Financial assistance has been extended by the government to families affected by Friday's earthquake in Dhaka and other parts of the country, covering those killed and injured.
Each family of the deceased received BDT 25,000, while those injured were given BDT 15,000 each through the respective district administrations.
Following the earthquake, the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief immediately activated an emergency response centre at the Department of Disaster Management.
The centre can be reached at telephone number 02-58811651. Through the centre, preliminary data on casualties and damage have been collected in coordination with all district administrations.
Initial reports of losses have been received from Dhaka, Narayanganj, Gazipur, Narsingdi and Magura districts.
