Hili Land Port to Suspend Trade for 3 Days Due to National Polls

To accommodate the 13th National Parliament Election and the Referendum, trade and commercial activities at the Hili Land Port in Dinajpur will be suspended for three consecutive days starting on Wednesday.

The election and referendum is scheduled to be held on Thursday.

Sakhawat Hossain Shilpi, President of the Dinajpur Hili Land Port Import and Export Workers Group, confirmed on Tuesday that all import and export operations will be halted on February 11 and 12.

With the following day, February 13, being a weekly holiday, the port will remain closed for a total of three days, with operations set to resume on February 14.

Md Abdur Rahman, Administrative Officer of Panama Hili Port Link Limited, noted that while trade will be paused, immigration services will specifically remain closed from 6 am on election day (February 12) until 6 am on February 13.

However, passport-holding travelers are permitted to cross the border as usual on all other days during this period.
