Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today (Saturday) urged the country's businessmen to put concentration on research for product diversification and own branding to boost export and business growth. "You (Businessmen) have to move ahead (inside and outside the country) through developing own brand" she told the inaugural ceremony of the month-long Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF)-2022 at Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre (BBCFEC) at Purbachal, a new city in the outskirts of the capital.

The 26th 'Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF)-2022' will begin from tomorrow at 'Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre' in the capital's Purbachal area. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to inaugurate the month-long trade fair virtually from her official residence Ganabhaban. Commerce Ministry and Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) are jointly organizing the fair.

Around 50,000 small and medium traders have lost their jobs due to the closing of the Chaman border crossing at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The US-India trade in goods showed an increase of 40 per cent in June 2021, and is on way to surpass pre-COVID -19 pandemic highs.
