PM Tarique Rahman Adorns New DGFI Chief with Major General Rank Badge

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman presided over a formal rank-adornment ceremony on Monday, pinning new badges on top military officials during his first official visit to the Armed Forces Division (AFD) at Dhaka Cantonment. 

The Prime Minister, accompanied by Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman, pinned the "Major General" rank badge on the newly appointed Director General of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI), Kaiser Rashid Chowdhury.

Additionally, the Premier adorned Lieutenant General Mir Mushfiqur Rahman with his new rank badge during the session.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) and the Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary, Atikur Rahman Ruman, the Prime Minister arrived at the AFD at 9 am.

He was received with a formal welcome by the chiefs of the three services—Army, Navy, and Air Force—marking his first day holding office at the Cantonment headquarters.

The ceremony was attended by a high-level delegation, including Brigadier General (retd) Dr. AKM Shamsul Islam, Adviser in Charge at the Ministry of Defence; Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hassan; and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan. 

Senior government officials, including Defence Secretary Md. Ashraf Uddin and the Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Abu Abdullah M Saleh, were also present to witness the event.

Following the ceremony, the Prime Minister exchanged pleasantries with the service chiefs and proceeded with his scheduled official engagements at the Armed Forces Division.
