The Qatari Ministry of Interior has announced an automatic one-month extension for all types of entry visas that have either expired or are nearing their expiration date.

The policy, which went into effect on February 28, comes as a relief measure to ensure the legal stability of visitors and residents amid the rapidly evolving regional security situation.

According to an official statement from Doha, the extension process will be handled entirely through electronic systems.

This means visa holders are not required to visit government departments or submit additional applications, and the extension will be granted free of charge.

The Ministry further indicated that this period could be extended again depending on how regional developments unfold in the coming weeks.

However, the Ministry clarified a key condition for those with existing penalties. Individuals who incurred visa violations prior to the February 28 cutoff must first settle their outstanding fines for that period.

Once those prior violations are cleared, the new automatic extension and fee exemption will apply.

The decision covers every category of entry visa, ranging from tourist to business permits.

By implementing this measure, Qatar aims to provide administrative certainty for international travelers and expatriates during this period of uncertainty.

The Ministry of Interior stated it will continue to monitor the situation closely and implement further measures as necessary to safeguard the interests of those currently within the country.
