The National Memorial at Savar will be closed to the public from March 23 to 25 to facilitate essential cleaning and preparation work ahead of the upcoming Independence and National Day celebrations.

According to an official release, the temporary restriction is necessary to ensure the site is fully prepared for the state program on March 26.

Access will also remain suspended during the early hours of Independence Day (March 26) until invited dignitaries have completed their tributes and departed the premises.

In addition to the scheduling updates, authorities have issued an appeal to citizens regarding the preservation of the site’s aesthetics.

The government has urged the public to exercise caution and avoid damaging the memorial's flower gardens while placing wreaths and paying their respects.

All visitors and organizations are requested to cooperate with the administration to maintain the sanctity and beauty of the National Memorial during the national observance.
