Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and his newly appointed cabinet members have paid their respects to the martyrs of the Liberation War at the National Memorial.

The tribute took place at the National Memorial in Savar at 11:00 AM on Wednesday (February 18).

Prior to the arrival of the Prime Minister and his ministers, a rigorous three-tier security system was implemented throughout the memorial area.

Personnel from the Police, RAB, and the Army were deployed in a coordinated effort. Intelligence surveillance was intensified on the highways, while dog squads and bomb disposal units conducted sweeps of the premises.

Additionally, the entire memorial complex was brought under full CCTV coverage.

The memorial grounds were temporarily closed to the general public during the high-profile visit.

Marking his first official working day, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to arrive at the Secretariat this afternoon.

He will preside over the first meeting of the newly formed Cabinet followed by a high-level meeting with the top administrative officials (Secretaries) of the government.
