Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited his political adviser and veteran BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas at Evercare Hospital in the capital Friday afternoon to inquire about his health.

Mirza Abbas, a senior leader of the party, has been under intensive care in the Neuro ICU since Wednesday night after suddenly losing consciousness.

The Prime Minister arrived at the hospital at 2:20 pm and spent time at the bedside of the ailing leader, personally reviewing his condition with the attending medical team and his wife, Afroza Abbas, President of the Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal.

During the visit, the Prime Minister issued direct instructions to concerned authorities to expedite all necessary arrangements for Mirza Abbas to receive advanced medical care abroad.

Social Welfare Minister Professor AZM Zahid Hossain, who has been coordinating the medical efforts, confirmed that a high-level medical board—comprising prominent neurologists including Prof. Ali Uzzaman, Prof.

Sheikh Abdul Kader, and Prof. Din Mohammad—had been overseeing the treatment. Following the Prime Minister's visit, it was confirmed that preparations for an overseas transfer have been finalized. "The Prime Minister is regularly taking updates on his condition," Dr. Zahid stated earlier in the day.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee member Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan also visited the hospital to confer with the medical board regarding the veteran leader's stability.

According to party sources, an air ambulance is scheduled to transport Mirza Abbas to Singapore at 6 pm this day. Upon arrival, he is expected to be admitted to the Department of Neuroscience at the National University Hospital in Singapore for specialized treatment.

Mirza Abbas was rushed to Evercare Hospital late Wednesday night after he fell ill and lost consciousness while drinking water during iftar. His family, including his wife Afroza Abbas, has requested the nation to keep the senior leader in their prayers for a speedy recovery.
