The Baitul Mukarram National Mosque served as a central hub for thousands of devotees today (on Saturday) as it successfully hosted five consecutive Eid-ul-Fitr congregations.

The prayers, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, were organized to accommodate the massive influx of worshippers arriving from across the capital to celebrate the nation's premier religious festival.

The series of prayer sessions began early in the morning, with the first congregation held at 7 am, led by Maulana Mizanur Rahman, the Senior Pesh Imam of the mosque.

This was followed by the second Jamaat at 8 am under the leadership of Pesh Imam Mufti Muhibbullahil Baqi Nadvi.

As the morning progressed, the third session was conducted at 9 am by Maulana Md. Zakir Hossain, Deputy Director of the Islamic Foundation, followed by the fourth at 10 am led by Maulana Zobayer Ahmed Al Azhari, a Religious Instructor at the Imam Training Academy.

The final congregation of the day took place at 10:45 am, led by Mufti Maulana Mohammad Abdullah of the Islamic Foundation.

Throughout the morning, the mosque and its surrounding areas were filled with devotees dressed in traditional attire, reflecting a spirit of solemnity and joy.

Following each session, the traditional scenes of "kolakuli" and the exchange of Eid greetings took place within the mosque premises, as Muslims from all walks of life gathered to share the blessings of the day.

Despite the ongoing regional tensions, the atmosphere at the national mosque remained peaceful and orderly.

Security personnel and volunteers worked in coordination to manage the crowds between the scheduled sessions, ensuring that every participant could offer their prayers in a disciplined environment.

The successful completion of these five Jamaats continues the mosque's long-standing tradition of serving as a primary site for national religious observance in Bangladesh.
