Amidst a spirit of spiritual reflection and inclusivity, an Eid-ul-Fitr prayer congregation was held on Saturday at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban (National Parliament).

The gathering was marked by a significant milestone, as the Parliament Secretariat introduced a dedicated prayer section for women for the first time in its history.

The prayers, which commenced at 8 am, were attended by the Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Bir Bikram, alongside senior officials, parliament employees, and devotees from across the capital.

Secretary of the National Parliament Secretariat, Kaniz Maula, was among the prominent participants in the newly established women's section.

Due to inclement weather and drizzling rain, Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed directed that the congregation be moved into the Parliament tunnel.

This strategic adjustment ensured that the thousands in attendance could perform their rituals undisturbed by the elements.

The prayer was led by Muhammad Saifullah, Senior Imam of the National Parliament Secretariat.

Following the formal prayers, a special Munajat (supplication) was offered, seeking the welfare, peace, and prosperity of the global Muslim Ummah and the continued progress of Bangladesh.

In keeping with traditional Bengali hospitality, the Parliament Secretariat served dates and sweetmeats to all devotees following the service.

The event concluded with Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed exchanging warm Eid greetings with the public, reinforcing the bond between the legislative institution and the citizens it serves.
