While the pressure of Dhaka-bound passengers has increased significantly since this morning, travelers reported a smooth experience across major highways and transport hubs.

Observations at key entry points, including Jatrabari, Sayedabad, and Gabtoli bus terminals, revealed a steady influx of people arriving from districts such as Chattogram, Noakhali, Khulna, and Barishal. Many passengers noted that they chose to return a day ahead of their official work schedules to avoid the typical last-minute rush.

Azizur Rahman, who arrived from Cox’s Bazar with his family on the ‘Tourist Express’ early Monday, mentioned that although his office reopens Tuesday, he returned early to ensure a stress-free transition for his family.

The railway stations and the Sadarghat launch terminal mirrored this busy but orderly scene. Motor launches from southern districts, including Bhola, Barguna, and Patuakhali, arrived packed with passengers.

Despite the high volume of travelers, commuters expressed satisfaction with the journey, citing a lack of major hurdles or traffic congestion on the highways—a result of various government measures implemented to ensure security and smooth transit during the long holiday period.

Interestingly, while the majority are returning, a noticeable number of people were seen leaving the capital on this day opting to travel after the main festive rush to spend time with family or explore domestic tourist spots.

With government and private offices set to officially reopen tomorrow, March 24, the capital is rapidly regaining its usual bustle.

This marks the conclusion of the mass exodus that began on March 17, as the city prepares to return to full operational status following the week-long celebrations.
