A high-level Bangladesh delegation, led by Labour and Employment Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury, has departed for Geneva, Switzerland, to participate in the 356th Governing Body Meeting of the International Labour Organization (ILO).

The Minister left Dhaka today and will be joined in Geneva by Prime Minister’s Adviser Mahdi Amin. Other key members of the delegation, including Labour and Employment Secretary Md. Abdur Rahman Tarafdar, have already arrived at the venue to begin preliminary sessions.

The official itinerary includes a series of bilateral meetings between the Bangladeshi representatives, labour ministers from various nations, and high-ranking ILO officials.

Prime Minister to Speak at Independence Day Discussion in Capital Today

These discussions will run alongside the main ILO session, where the delegation is expected to showcase the government’s recent initiatives in labour sector development.

Key focus areas for the Bangladesh team include highlighting progress in job creation, the implementation of international labour standards, and the overall modernization of the country's labour framework.
