High-level military and diplomatic officials from Bangladesh and Russia met on Tuesday to discuss strengthening bilateral ties through enhanced military and technical cooperation.
Russian Ambassador Alexander Khozin, accompanied by Military, Air, and Naval Attache Colonel Pavel Ivashinnikov, held a formal meeting with Lieutenant General Mir Mushfiqur Rahman, the Principal Staff Officer of Bangladesh’s Armed Forces Division.
According to a statement from the Russian Embassy in Dhaka, the discussions focused on both existing and potential areas of collaboration between the two nations' defense forces.
A key objective of the meeting was to explore ways to expand the legal framework that governs bilateral military cooperation, potentially paving the way for more structured defense agreements and technical exchanges in the future.
The meeting underscores an ongoing effort to deepen strategic relations and technical synergy between the Armed Forces of Bangladesh and the Russian Federation.
