On March 31, Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman met with US Energy Secretary Chris Wright at the Department of Energy in Washington to discuss the severe energy disruptions currently facing the South Asian nation.

Dr. Rahman detailed the challenges posed by global supply chain instability and formally requested American support to bolster Bangladesh's energy security.

Secretary Wright acknowledged the gravity of the crisis and expressed a firm commitment to supporting Bangladesh during these difficult times.

He assured the Foreign Minister that his team would work closely with relevant US government departments to evaluate and address Bangladesh’s requests.

The meeting marks a significant step in aligning US energy resources with Bangladesh’s immediate infrastructure and supply needs in the Indo-Pacific region.
